Marple's Northwest Business Letter ceases publication

Article published in the final issue March 6, 2013.

This marks the final issue of Marple’s Northwest Business Letter.

Despite our best efforts, circulation numbers for Marple’s have continued a steady slide to the point that the newsletter was no longer viable. Our attempts at reversing the trend were unsuccessful. There was a place for a newsletter like this one when Elliot Marple launched it more than 60 years ago. Now it’s a crowded marketplace, with many free offerings. It was a difficult decision to cease publication, but one that had to be made.

Subscribers will soon be receiving reimbursements in the mail for the remaining time on their subscriptions.

Most importantly, we want to thank you, especially our longtime subscribers who remained loyal to Marple’s all these years.

Sincerely,

Jim Murez, Editor
Jon Anderson, Publisher

Marple’s Northwest Business Letter, published every other Wednesday since 1949 in a four-page newsletter format that saves time, provides intelligence on the economy and companies of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

You can turn to plenty of information sources on the national scene. But there is only one independent publication devoted solely to business in the Pacific Northwest. If you do business in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska, you need Marple's to keep you informed on the economy right here at home.

Thousands of readers rely on Marple's, published every other Wednesday, to keep them abreast of all the important trends in the Northwest economy. What industries are recovering fastest?
