This table summarizes daily trading in the pit-traded lumber futures
contract at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on the day the Random Lengths weekly report is published. Participants in futures markets
commit to either deliver or receive a specified commodity at a future date.
In the case of lumber futures, the commodity specified is 110,000 board feet
of Western Spruce-Pine-Fir #2&Btr 2x4 random length lumber. When comparing
cash-market and futures prices, please note that the 1% discount for payment
within the manufacturers terms has been deducted from the prices shown
in the futures table.
