Quebec's Forest Industry Council names new head
Conservative MP Denis Lebel, who announced on Monday that he was leaving politics, will be the next president and general manager of the Conseil de l’industrie forestière du Québec. CIFQ’s president of the board of directors, Éric Bouchard, made the announcement Tuesday, adding that Lebel will begin in September. He will succeed André Tremblay, who has occupied that position since Jan. 1, 2011. For more, click here...

Jack Chase retires from Sierra Pacific
Jack Chase has retired as of today from Sierra Pacific Industries, Redding, Calif., after 33 years with the company and an industry career spanning more than 40 years. He started in the industry in 1973 with Louisiana-Pacific, and also worked for Diamond International in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, before joining SPI.

Southern named CEO of LP
Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) (NYSE: LPX) today announced that its board of directors has appointed Brad Southern to succeed Curt Stevens as the CEO of LP effective July 1, 2017. Stevens, who has served as CEO since 2012, will retire from LP June 30, 2017. For more, click here...
